Modelling Creates Masters

“Honour bespeaks worth. Confidence begets trust. Service brings satisfaction. Cooperation proves the quality of leadership.” ~James Cash Penney
Integrity is in short supply in too many organizations.
So is trust; profits are placed higher on the priority pole than people.
Short-term quarterly earnings reports have replaced long-term plans to service clients.
Words like “honour” are rarely spoken in corporate corridors, nor is the concept taught in schools.
Too often, confidence on dependent on positional power and cooperation is determined by perceived personal gain,.
Maybe it’s time to ponder the words themselves—honor, confidence, service and cooperation—what do they mean?
And more important, what do they mean to you?
How do you demonstrate them in your life?
Maybe, instead of waiting for our leaders to do so, we could start showing them what it looks like.
Modelling is the way masters make manifest their values.
And maybe, just maybe, we can each of us become a master.
