Feed The Appreciation Machine
“Trade your expectations for appreciation and the world changes instantly.” ~Tony Robbins
William James, the esteemed psychologist, said, “the deepest principle in human nature is the craving to be appreciated.”
Remember the last time somebody appreciated you for something you did or said? Or simply for being you? Felt pretty good, didn’t it?
Well, that feeling of being appreciated can be generated without waiting for others to initiate it.
Try this: Appreciate every one and thing that crosses your path today: the traffic slowing you down, the obstacles in your way, the people impeding your progress.
All of it.
For one day.
See if you don’t feel pretty damn good at the end of the day.
And then, repeat.
What do you have to lose by trying it?
Might make for a mighty fine week.
